This is a very random question relating scorpions (the actual scorpions) so I'm not posting in the Guardian section.

Does anyone else find it strangely coincidental that the segments on the back of a scorpion equal seven? There could be other species with different numbers of segments, I'm not sure because I'm not a scientist/researcher in that field... but it was a weird little moment for me to discover. I guess people really weren't kidding when they said there are no coincidences and that everything has a deeper meaning in Asetianism? It makes me wonder about the Seven Scorpions themselves, and the period of Sep Tepy... if the scorpions we see today have anything to do with the spiritual, sacred Egypt as well as the daemons, and not just existing as another average bug on planet Earth Smile

Weird little "ah-ha" moment for me, so I apologize for the random nature of the post. This observation is accompanied by weeks and weeks' worth of odd things... such as constantly noticing repeating numbers everywhere. Like three, five and seven...

Not a random post, it's an interesting observation. As you said, studying and living Asetianism makes life full of those awe moments. The level and complexity of symbolism that comes with the teachings of the Aset Ka is simply fascinating. It's never-ending as well, like the Asetians... Wink

Thank you, Jonathan and Kalb. Smile

Interestingly enough, I found a diagram that points to more basic anatomy and numerical "coincidences".

From this website, http://jb004.k12.sd.us/MY%20WEBSITE%20INFO/BIOLOGY%202/ANIMAL%20KINGDOM/TARANTULA.htm

there is a diagram of the scorpion. The metasoma, or tail, has five segments... kind of cool to see two numbers so important in Asetianism appear in the basic anatomy of scorpions.

The site does mention, a bit above the diagram, that scorpions do not actually sting themselves with their own venom in the wild.  This caused me to examine page 115 of the AB a bit more closely, since the claim on the site confused me.  The wording in the Asetian Bible is that, "in ancient times, it was believed that they would sting themselves..."
So, I am unsure if this particular sentence is an example of a moment where we shouldn't take the words verbatim.  (With the word "believed" being used in place of something more concrete, that would imply proof of actual scorpions being this way.)
Regardless, it is interesting to study videos of scorpions and vipers in the wild.  Analyzing their behavior helps me to understand two of the Asetian lineages a bit better, although clearly l will never FULLY understand them.  I have to wonder WHY the lineages match the animal counterparts in so many different ways... Viperines obviously are not actual snakes, but they share characteristics.  (I was particularly fascinated by the fact that incarnated Viperines tend to have vision problems, because many snakes in the wild have fuzzy vision that isn't exactly the clearest.)

I remember that statement from the Asetian Bible well and what I interpreted from it is that wild scorpions stinging themselves was an ancient belief, not actual fact, and as many observations of the ancients that was interconnected with Asetian symbolism, in this case the symbolism of loyalty and sacrifice of the Scorpion Lineage. If wild scorpions can in fact sting themselves and commit suicide to avoid capture I don't know as I'm no biologist but such a thing should be approached as a metaphor.

Thank you for clearing that up for me. Just another example of how careful people should be when studying this sort of thing... very easy to misstep and misinterpret things. Even such a small thing as a sentence Smile
