An issue with time... Empty An issue with time...

Post by Shadwe 31.03.09 3:59

Kinda an odd Subject header I suppose... but its fitting.

Anyways... this is something I have only had occur a couple of times, much to my alarm. I haven't really ever discussed it with anyone due to fear of reactions... but I figured that if there was any place to ask it be here...

It originally occurred on accident when I was back in high school. I had been experimenting with barriers... A fascination of mine that grew from learning how to use one to get down the hallways without ever getting bumped, a serious annoyance of mine. Anyways... I had been running rather late and had been experimenting with this sorta silver energy flamey-type shield ( forgive my horrible description ^.^Wink and had set a really basic one one up during lunch, and being my absent minded self had skipped off to something else without finishing it... After lunch I was headed to go to Spanish class, and happened to notice I was running late and sort of wished in the back of my head I had more time. This is when whatever happened occured... it was kinda like time skipped if that makes sence. eveything kinda suddendly jumped and everything looked like it was a few seconds before. I remember it really disturbed me.. and I felt rather disoriented and shakey. After that it occured a couple times spontaniously, usually if i was running late. I have never tried to create the effect intentionally as it is so disorienting, and it hasnt occured on accident since I gained better controll in my shields.

I am just curious if anyone has had this occur to them. if not if anyone has any idea what exactly happened I would be very thankful.

Why thank you Laiko *short bow of appreciation* ^.^

Well.. I have been in a few accidents like the time thing, and I am admittedly guilty of doing alot of unwise (some people might also say unethical at times ^^Wink experimentation, due to the fact I learn better on my own intuition than anything else really. Only problem is my learning curve is kinda steep... most my experiments go boom in some way or another. And all that isn't taking my various other experiences of an odd nature into account... So yeah I suppose I could make some very interesting threads ^^;

It sounds like this is an example of the ability to manipulate time. I have heard of this before from several psychics. Vampires are known to possess this ability as well.

I have had a similar experience and to be honest I do not know what to think of it.

I have started practicing energy work and everything has been going well....except for the side effects...
At first it was just extra sensitivity, but now things have changed.

I am starting to see things I haven't before. Besides seeing your average spirit or energy 'current' (that was the best word I could find...I have been seeing the movement of what we call 'time'.

Time, however, is a very sensitive subject.

I will be sitting in a car, and I will see everything sway, and I will react before the driving instructor tells me to do something. you can see how this can become a problem on the road.
my theory is this: as one begins to advance energy wise, one becomes more aware of the Astral realm...the astral realm does not function like the physical one and therefore the concept known to us as time is thrown out the window.

However, I am not sure about my theory and would like to see your opinions on this.. An issue with time... Confused

By the way when I feel this 'time' lapse, I can feel everything at a rather slow pace...like slow motion...has anyone felt this?
any thoughts?

I have had that same experience Ivy. Time is a variable that exists only on the physical realm, so when we have the ability or sensitivity to touch other planes the concept of time malfunctions, because it is not entirely compatible with the other realms. This can manifest in many different ways, and keeping that stability while shifting realms or touching other planes can be important for anyone attempting to astral travel or projecting. Some people can even go mad if not properly grounded.

Hmm, I experience this with meditation sometimes... Sometimes, when I go off to my little "la-la land", and get into a deep state, it will seem like it was a long session, but then when I look at the clock, I realize that it was not very long at all.

Over time, and with practice it became easier for me to speed up the time that it takes me to get into a deep state. I guess that is why.

Jonathan, do you think that this can be consciously induced (slowing down 'time')?
And if so what do you think the purpose would be?

(Trying to stir so brain tingling discussion all opinions and thoughts are welcome)

This would probably be a form of manifesting, Ivy, consuming large amounts of energy in doing so.

Daniel is right, if properly done it is a form of magick and manipulation. In this case, probably would fall under the umbrella of manifesting.
Actually, everyone is capable of doing this in a non-conscious way, but as a defensive mechanism. When you have serious accident or are present in a life-threatening situation, you will notice time slowing down. Anyone who has been in such a situation has experienced this. This happens so you can have a better time to think and react to the situation at hand, and by that preserving your life. It's not something that happens under your control, but a natural defensive mechanism, being also something that we can explore under a metaphysical light.

Oh, I agree and can confirm that!!!! Having been in life or death situation, I can say for sure, that time slows down. Everything suddenly starts to move slowly, and you feel like even your reactions are slow as you are wishing to move quickly out of harms way. It's like you are in slow motion.

Indeed I know this effect. I had a moment where I decided to break out in a sprint to attempt to vault an alley I've had my sights on for some time, and when I landed, I lost my stability and began to tumble. Time felt as if it slowed down as my mind realized it would not regain stability and quickly figured that the best way to avoid injury would be to roll into the grass, something I had never actually done before. I redirected myself in that split second and very harshly tumbled into the grass, but quickly recovered with a very high spirited laugh about it because the only thing hurt was the palm of my hand which had touched the sidewalk.

I dont think its a form of manifesting for the simple fact that you are not influencing your physical body in anyway, you are changing your perception, perhaps even enhancing sensitivity. Manifesting is usually something physical, while this is something else. my question is: what exactly is happening?

Manifesting can be applied to perceptions. What is happening could be a heightening of the speed at which the brain is firing neurons for communication and interpretation of the senses, thus making this feel as if they are going slower when in fact you are just being able to physically register them faster. The mind is very physical.

I have had my own experiences with time, but in a different way.
For a while I will stare at a clock (one that has a second hand) and get a feel for time not "ticking" but moving. Trying to perceve time not in minutes and seconds, but in moments. After a while I feel like I am moving forward very fast, and as I am watching the second hand of the clock, it stops for a little bit, maybe a few seconds.
