Asetian Vampirism & Religion are strongly linked

Post by Hierophant on 20.09.11 7:11

I really liked this passage from the Asetian Bible, and it resonated with me on a deep level.

Page 142.

The vampiric path is interconnected with a profound sense of divineness allied to a strong devotion that surpasses faith. This strong religiosity from the real vampires is supported by a profound system of spirituality, that is not accessible to just anyone and certainly is out of the scope to the common mind. The concepts of no attached religion to vampirism and the lack of divinity or deity manifestations in their philosophies is just a disguised form of modern Satanism, adapted the the vampire archetype, being just a modern concept that has nothing to do with the real vampire spirituality.

That's interesting. Do you mind if I ask you to develop a bit on why this particular passage resonated with you on a deeper level?

Sure thing.

I guess the point struck me, if vampirism is feeding off vital energy, then it is essentially a spiritual process. It needs to be respected as such. If Isis is the mother of Vampires, then reverence of her in a religious/spiritual sense makes a lot of sense to me.

To me Satanism, particularly La Vey Satanism has always been Ayn Rand with black capes. The Atheism has always struck me as naive, and limiting. Very selfish in a destructive sense.

A Vampire is not a Libertarian warrior, living on his own energy alone. The vampire takes vital/spiritual essence of others. The Vampire must respect the process, respect the donors, honour the Mother. The Vampire is a part of the whole, not an island until him/herself.

You do have a point. I must say I agree with you and your view of vampirism. The problem is that there is such a generalized wrong idea of vampirism, involving fiction, fangs and goth fetishes that it makes it really hard to educate people or other occultists on the true nature of the vampire. Most people claiming to be vampires don't even agree that vampirism is about spirituality, which is really the basics. On such terms, Asetians distinguish themselves from all other vampire groups and traditions, because they brought vampirism back to where it belongs, and that is in spirituality. Also why respect is very important in Asetianism, an important concept that many fail to understand. Due to ego, fear or weakness most people fail greatly when it comes to interpret the Asetian teachings.
The road in this path is very hard, but that is how we learn.

You mentioned Satanism from LaVey, and I would agree that such practices, and even Luciferianism, can sometimes be destructive but especially very limiting. Despite their obvious lack of spiritual depth, they all encourage ego above all other traits, like honor and respect. This alienates people and gives them a false sense of knowledge.
I am not against such traditions by any chance, but some people's interpretations and approach to such systems are indeed very limiting in terms of understanding the universe but most importantly in terms of understanding themselves.

I also agree with both of you. I find that spiritual connection a beautiful and fulfilling thing.

In fact, it's that strong sense of spirituality found in Asetianism that makes it such a relevant occult tradition. It's also the depth of Asetian wisdom that keeps people so dedicated to Asetianism after such a long time. There are many people that first feel drawn to it because of its dark and mysterious feel, the whole vampire connection. Those are the ones who end up loosing interest sooner or later when they see that enlightenment isn't exactly an easy thing. Common people seek fantasy, not spirituality. Only those that can see past the mystery and darkness remain, and those usually remain forever...
