Moving photo of Aset
Recently, Madrid was visited by a fascinating exhibition of some ancient Egyptian objects and statues that were recently found sunk underwater, after hundreds of years, near Alexandria and Aburik.
The collection of statues, artifacts, decorations, funerary chambers, amulets and hierogliphs was absolutely amazing. I have not been so moved since I walked the Egyptian halls at the British Museum.
Unfortunately cameras were not allowed, but I managed to sneak a photo of this wonderful statue of Aset - also suspected to be an anonymous queen dressing like her. The statue is about 5 meters tall, maybe a bit more, all made of soft granite.
I just wanted to share it with you.
