I'm new to this forum and bit on a research trail for my spiritual quest. Without sounding stereotypical, I've been on a long journey to find out who I am and why I act and believe the way I do. I've read a few pages before making a post to prevent asking questions that have already been asked. I hope to learn from all of you. Please forgive me if I ask redundant questions.

Perhaps predators with a conscience...
... or predators who, in this life, have experienced some kind of personal trauma.

Frequent apologizing, as far as I understand psychology, suggests either something they're hiding, like not being honest intentionally, or a habit developed from an undeserved guilty conscience. Emotional and Mental abuse can result in over apologizing later in life. I myself still struggle in breaking this habit.
