A Poem to share Empty A Poem to share

Post by Talibah 25.03.09 4:16

I wrote this a while ago, but now feel comfortable enough to share it here. I hope that no one minds.

Be still the maddening visions in my mind,
the echo of ages past and gone.
Of royal valleys and far reaching waters,
twisting through sacred lands.

Through sand dusted streets,
to temples of gold, and lapis lazuli eyes.
The bowing heads to crowns of sunlight,
and sky proud sirius and rising tides.

Of timeless wars and victory failed,
of blood stained scrolls and stolen pride.
Of broken men and tortured slaves,
and holy secrets reduced to pyres.

The empty thrones and abandoned ritual,
lost in the archives of time.
Buried within a conscious flame,
touching the dreams of a sleeping child.

So, be still the maddening visions in my mind
and be quiet your constant lullaby.
and let what knowing dreams may come,
to reveal your hidden path.

THat is a beautiful poem, Talibah. I re-read it a few times out loud to catch the rythm too, it's very compelling and rich in imagery, and I am sure that many of us here can relate.

THank you for sharing this with us Smile

Wow that is great Talibah. Very inspiring. I can sense a great connection in the energy of those words with what we deal in here, around the Asetian culture, their past, their memories, their pain and their empire...

Please share more!
